Option to have the core forcefully close a (possibly dead) socket, and optionally reconnect to the irc-server, without waiting for the connection to be closed by the other end.

The reason behind this request is, that when my ISP disconnects me (every 24hrs) and the router reconnects the irc connection isn't reset and dead until the timeout. Often enough I don't realize this myself, but when it happens during a conversation, I'd rather be able to immediately reconnect (with an alternate nick if necessary of course), than to wait until the core realizes the connection to be dead.
