Description

I request an optional password protection feature to restore the window from the tray, similar to Deluge (http://deluge-torrent.org/).
This is an essential privacy and security feature.

Have you tried an (automated) screen lock already? Possibly combined with multiple user accounts and multiple X sessions (i.e. KDE and Gnome have the latter integrated), so whoever-else also uses the computer is not locked out? Maybe making the 2nd user passwordless, so he can even easily login with just a click?
That seems like a more generic and standard way to handle this kind of issue.

With a semi-public family computer that friends use, locking and user switching is a tedious workaround to password-protecting the tray icon, but using core + client instead of the monolithic client (windows) provides very similar functionality. I am sure that nobody will oppose adding a small, optional, and convenient feature, though.
Thank you for replying!

I don't see anyone implementing this in foreseeable time.
As you already mentioned a pretty convenient workaround i'll close this request.
Reopen if the mob really wants such a thing for the monolithic version too.
